Chapter 2: A Splashy Game
Bozo sat in the water. He was still shy. He was still worried.
Then Captain Fox looked up. He saw Bozo!
"Hello!" called Captain Fox. "Hello, Bozo! Come here!"
Sparkle jumped up and down. "Yes, yes, yes! Come and play, Bozo!"
Bozo's heart went boom-boom-boom. They saw him! They wanted him to play!
Bozo swam a little closer. Then a little closer. Then a little bit more.
"That's it!" said Sparkle. "Come on, Bozo!"
Then Sparkle did something funny. She curled up into a tight little ball.
"Push me!" she squeaked. "Push me like a ball!"
Bozo giggled. A real giggle! He gave Sparkle a gentle, gentle push.
Whoooosh! Sparkle rolled across the water like a bouncy ball!
"Wheeeee!" she cried.
Captain Fox clapped his paws. "Again! Again!"
Bozo pushed Sparkle again. And again. And again.
They all laughed and laughed and laughed.
Bozo forgot all about his big teeth. He forgot about being shy.
He was playing! He was really, truly playing!
"You're brilliant, Bozo!" said Captain Fox.
"You're the best!" said Sparkle.
Bozo's whole face smiled. A big, happy smile.
For the first time all day, Bozo was not sad.
Bozo was happy. So very happy.
And his friends were happy too.
